Formula Master set a new record for 2.0 litre race cars today at the Circuit de la Comunitat Valenciana Ricardo Tormo in Valencia, Spain. 2008 Vice-Champion Fabio Leimer posted a fastest lap of 1:26.604, bettering last September’s Spanish Formula 3 pole position set by Jaime Alguersuari (1:30.766) by more than four seconds.
With five Formula Master teams on track this week for a two-day test, Leimer led the timesheets throughout both days, posting the overall fastest lap this morning for Jenzer Motorsport.

The Formula Master season may have only ended six weeks ago but plenty of work is already taking place to ensure the Series delivers even greater racing in 2009. The Formula Master car features in the intended changes, with a new update kit planned for 2009.
